Hello FIA Members,

Can you believe it is August?  Where did our summer go?  My little granddaughter is so excited to start her little preschool class in a few weeks.  It gives me great joy to see the world through her little eyes.  Her big find this year was lightning bugs.  She could not wait until dark to run out and watch them glow.  She didn't want to catch them, just watch them light up.  What fun we had!!

We still have MarketPlace booths available if you are considering being an exhibitor.  104 booths have been reserved as of July 31, 2024.  If you have not reserved your booth in Chattanooga, I would love to hear from you so we can get your booth space reserved.  We want you to have the best possible booth for your company!

FARRIER INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION - Mission Statement: The mission of the FIA is to provide companies in the hoof care industry with programs and services which will strengthen and grow their businesses.

We are choo-chooing into Chattanooga at the FIA! At our Board of Directors meeting last week Super Margie gave us the latest booth number update, 102 booths sold already! That’s a HUGE number folks, for July, and we know that some of you haven’t registered yet. All aboard! We need those registrations ASAP! We are trending toward a SOLD-OUT event, for the first time in a long time, and you don’t want to miss it!!

Just like last year, I have to warn you about scammers that will probably call you about booking your hotel through them. They called me this morning and Myron McLane too. Once again, THE AFA AND FIA ARE NOT WORKING WITH A THIRD PARTY TO BOOK HOTEL ROOMS IN CHATTANOOGA!!! Please book your hotel room through the host hotel within the room block. If you are contacted by anyone about hotel rooms, it is a scammer. The guy that called me didn’t even know that our convention is in Chattanooga.

BOD Meeting Highlights and FIA things to know:

• Farrier Family Feud, sponsored by Rusty Brown Jewelry, is getting a tech infusion in 2024! Beta testing is going strong and you will love the new look. Thank you to Torri and Bailee from Hanton and the rest of the FFF committee for being all-in on this project!
• Let’s do lunch! The FIA Business Conference and Member Meeting will be Thursday November 14. BOD member Rob Michel from Oleo Acres Farrier & Blacksmith Supply will lead the panel discussion again this year. Suppliers and manufacturers will be represented on the panel and answering timely questions, as always.
• 2024 Elections for FIA BOD members and officers are coming up. Throw your hat in the ring to be the next great BOD member for our industry association. Several members finish their terms this year so if you’d like to be nominated, please let the FIA know.
• Message Eric Nygaard on FaceBook if you would like to join the private FB group “FIA Farrier Manufacturers & Retailers: Swap & Talk”. FIA members are welcome to join the group and join in the conversations.
• Please visit www.rayzinkane.com to get the new FIA logo embroidered or screen printed on your company’s gear. Rayzin Kane is the official clothier of the AFA and FIA. You will see them onsite at the 2024 AFA Convention, but you can update your company gear year-round! Get your items ordered before Chattanooga to beat the rush!

A Cowboy was going deer hunting. His blonde wife said she was going with him. That they never did anything together. So, they went.

He put her in a stand by herself. Later in the morning he heard her shoot. He went over to her stand and she was pointing her rifle at a guy with a cowboy hat on.

The guy was telling her, "Ma'am, you can have the deer you shot. I just want to take my saddle off of him!"
